Vorletzte Woche hatte ich meinen großen Auftritt im Quatsch Comedy Club Berlin – und hab’s vergeigt. Nicht total. Mein Auftritt war solide, okay, es gab einige Lacher. Aber ich habe eben nicht gewonnen. Und doch weiß ich: da wäre viel mehr drin gewesen.
Warum?
Weil ich meine eigene Medizin nicht genommen habe. Ich habe den Blindenstock halb versteckt, versucht sehender zu sein als alle anderen.
Aber wie sollte das gelingen? Vor allem habe ich mich meines USPs, meines Zauberstabs beraubt – freiwillig, ohne jede Not.
Die Wahrheit ist: ich war zu sehr mit mir allein. Wir brauchen andere, um uns zu erinnern, worum es uns wirklich geht. Sonst rutschen wir zurück in Angst und Autopilot. In meinem Fall: so tun, als sei ich nicht blind. Was für ein Quatsch. Riesen Quatsch im Quatsch Comedyclub.
Und doch – wie sagte schon Michael Jordan:
„I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.“
Was für eine Erinnerung!

The week before last, I had my big performance at the Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin — and I blew it. Well, not completely. My performance was solid, okay? But I just didn't win. Sure, there were a few laughs — but I know there could have been so many more.
Why?
Because I didn't take my own medicine. I half-hid my white cane, tried to be more sighted than everyone else.
But how could that work? Above all, I robbed myself of my USP, my magic wand — voluntarily, without any real need.
The truth is: I was too alone with myself. We need others to remind us what really matters to us. Otherwise, we slip back into fear and autopilot. In my case: pretending I'm not blind. What nonsense. Huge nonsense in the nonsense comedy club.
And yet – as Michael Jordan said:
„I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.“
What a reminder!
